My name is Bryan Hurlbut. I am the CEO and founder of Big Meaning, Inc. as well as the author of the book, Making It Count.
It is my observation that as time advances fonward, individuals are choosing more and more to sacrifice the important people and areas of their lives for personal gratification and convenience. It is also my observation that a large portion of church congregations are following this same unfortunate and destructive path.
As current generations are fulfilling roles as business leaders, parents and volunteers, I see a dramatic lack of understanding about life worth, eternal focus, the importance of valuing others and the practice of good and honorable relationship skills. There is an increase in people holding petty grudges and destructive gossip about each other as well as the sending of slanderous email to avoid face-to-face confrontation. People are spending two and three times their annual income on personal choice items, failing to live lifestyles of giving and instead are living lifestyles of unnecessary luxury. I see a great lack of parents who are investing in the emotional and spiritual lives of their children, leaving great and open holes that are being filled with every sort of indulgence.
It is my mission is to help individuals, churches and businesses grow to a place of maturity and honesty with their selves, their co-laborers, their employees, and their volunteers. It is my goal to see the hearts of fathers turned to the well being of their children; for the stress of financial failure to be removed; for marriage partners to commit themselves to each other until they are separated by death; and for people to be unafraid of being open, honest and transparent with those around them.
This drive comes not only from my business dealings but as a bi-vocational volunteer pastor who deals with a healthy volunteer staff as well as many poor in my community. My interests bring me to serve alongside other pastors, ministries, private schools and not-for-profit organizations as well as the many for-profit businesses that have trusted me for support, guidance and direction.
